Membership FAQ

The questions we get most often.

  • Is there a joining fee?

    No — and there hasn’t been since 1881. We charge by direct debit on the 1st of the month and you can cancel any time.

  • Can I try the club before joining?

    Yes. We offer a two-week trial year-round — fill in the contact form below or come in any weekday morning.

  • Are bursaries available?

    Yes, particularly for juniors. We turn no junior away on cost. The Patron tier funds the bursary scheme.

  • What does the Patron tier include?

    All Competition benefits, two named guests per visit, four pavilion-hire dates, and tickets to the Centenary Dinner.

  • Can guests visit?

    All members get guest passes — six per year on Social up to twelve on Intermediate. Guests must be signed in at the office.

  • When can I use the courts?

    Members may use the courts from 7am to 10pm daily. Grass courts open from May to September; clay and hard are open all year.
